politics

What gets me is, like many of you, my parents also tend to vote right. My mother in particular didn't particularly like the carrotface but voted for him anyway because she hated H so much.

All the anti-low-income shit is affecting her negatively too, but she keeps supporting it because it enables her racism.

me: I'm going to shower and get ready and get to work early for once!

also me: I'm going to get overcome with anxiety and the badfeels and be late like I always am because I'm a failure.

also also me: oh hey I forgot I got some candy yesterday *nom*

Sorry about all that personal ranting. I don't mean to say that I don't care at all anymore, because I'm selfish and it doesn't directly affect me.

I'm legit worried for the rest of y'all. Just I've been worried for a very long time. I wish I could join the fight with the same fresh enthusiasm others have, but I'm tired.

I don't think I'm asking for a handout here either. As the saying goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." The whole country benefits from having a healthy population of workers, consumers, etc. Even from a capitalist standpoint, that kind of long-term stability is good for business and a safe ROI.

I think I'm done ranting now.

As I said all the stupid stuff that AHCA brings in is absolutely nothing new to me, I don't lose anything at all. I'm just cynical and jaded and having a bit of schadenfreude over people who thought ACA was perfect possibly getting dropped down to STILL BETTER OFF THAN I AM

I've been against the ACA from the beginning, because we need *healthcare*, *directly*, not some form of legalized gambling funneling money to fat middlemen.

There's a bit of a safety net there for emergencies, sure. When I got a bad tooth infection, I was able to get a loan from a friend and get it extracted. But that doesn't apply to long-term or preventative care.
Like this dead-feeling lump in my leg that's been there for a couple years. What is it? I don't know, and I can't afford to find out.

Despite living in the USA, I'm not as riled up as some others about the recent news of the AHCA replacing the ACA. It's because I'm jaded and tired of shouting about terrible healthcare already. Because I make slightly above a McDonald's entry level hourly wage, I "make too much money" to qualify for any assistance from ACA, Medicaid, etc. for insurance.

playing Quest Rogue in Hearthstone is getting fun with all the shenanigans I'm pulling off. throw down a pig, slam a pig at face, throw a panda to bounce a pig, repeat.

The photo doesn't do it justice, the top line is much less readable from a distance in person.

Sometimes I think I'm way too rooted in my view of reality as scientifically measurable to understand spirituality. Not that I reject it, but that I can't understand enough of it to form an opinion on the subject. Not through lack of trying, or friendly people trying to explain either.

One of the most difficult parts of tech support or troubleshooting is trying to get the person with the problem to tell you what exactly the problem is. It often involves a long boring process of trying to gently coax the information out of them without making them feel bad.

Yay, home from work! And reveling in how truly adult and mature I am by having dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. I'm at least making my own honey mustard dipping sauce instead of buying premade! I'm even going to try (non high fructose) corn syrup instead of honey.
