@Firstaide Oh boy Duke Nukem is..an odd franchise. The first two games are old very early 90s sidescrolling DOS platformers, and they...kind of sort of suck, but are harmless? They're meant to evoke an action movie sort of ("Mad scientist" wants to take over the galaxy or some such, Duke's gotta stop 'em, with guns), and it's fairly harmless.

DN3d was an FPS game years later and whilst the modding tools were really quite cool, and some great maps were made, it uh... yeah... yyyyeaahhhh... :/

@Firstaide bbasically it was chock full of pop culture references and was so 90s action movie it hurt, PLUS it ...was kind of embarassingly super macho sexist?

Duke Nukem Forever came out after ...what...12 years or something of delays? and almost being cancelled?... and took it way way further and was just...ugh...gross as hell. DN3d's main playerbase was largely 14 to 20 year olds?...

DNF forgot its audience from DN3d had grown up by quite a large amount since then.
