It was a city of bright wonder. One of the few ones that lay on the scarce land that dotted the planet. Half on land and half spilling out into the ocean, it was a huge melting pot of visitors and natives of Halcyon alike.
My own residency was on what might have at one point been a beach. I could see the sandy streets turn to water and drop off on the distance.

Oh, how I miss the view out that window these days. I havn't seen anything remotely close to it since I left. despite what you may be imagining, Play was really built into the city in a way only a place on Halcyon could be. The city was fairly vertical, and many different light-tubes connected from residential areas to different hubs around the city.

I'll tell you, there's nothing quite like taking a business meeting and then hopping in a light-tube that may as well be like some terran water-park tube to zip across the busy city and plummet down into the water to the depths of the city.
The nightlife is something else to, but that's totally for another time.
