anxiety, dumb feelings about Patreon

I've been really afraid of talking with any artist or writer or content creator who has a Patreon page lately...

Partly it's probably my anxiety like usual, but... I have been feeling like if a creator has a Patreon, and is making content directly for their patrons or has a private chat room, then not only are they probably very busy making their content, but they probably spend most of their time talking just with their patrons...

And so, I get a feeling that unless I have enough money to become a patron and pay them, I probably shouldn't bother them, even if just to leave a message of support or ask a question about their work...

I don't know if anybody would even be upset if they got a message from somebody like me who they didn't already know and who wasn't paying them, but I feel like it's possible they would be, so I don't bother saying anything...

@Raspberryfloof

How would you know if you wanted to pay them if you couldn't talk to them?

I'm sure they'd welcome questions, particularly from people interested in their work

@Raspberryfloof I don't know if that's necessarily the case, but most of my experience with Patreon content creators has been with people who stream their creative process on Twitch, and they tend to be appreciative of new people, even those who can't afford to contribute.
