mh (-), autism

I remember all of us being taken to a child psychologist or w/e when I was like... ten or so?

I was officially diagnosed with ADD at the time, and suspected of having Asperger's Syndrome.

My brother was diagnosed as low-functioning autistic, and my sister high-functioning. She lives with my mother still, and my brother is in a group home qualified to work with him.

Meanwhile, I got nothing. No drugs, no further testing, no therapy.

Because I passed for normal.

mh (-), autism

Myself and my two siblings are all on the spectrum, and I'm the highest-functioning of the three. Which means from an early age not only did I have to look after myself as a latchkey kid, I had to look after both of them, one of which was physically stronger than me, and functioned at a level equivalent to an especially precocious five-year-old.

Both of them received qualified help for their disabilities, not now and while growing up.

But me? No. I was the 'normal-looking' one.

Knock Knock

Me: Who th- oh great it's you again.

Imposter Syndrome: S'up.

Me: What do you want?

IS: To dwell on all the ways your childhood fucked you up mentally, how you're a perpetually dysfunctional human being, and that you're one stupid mistake away from losing your job and driving away everybody you care about.

Me: Awesome. How long you staying?

IS: Until you cry yourself to sleep tonight thinking about the potential you've lost over the years not treating your mental health.

@MillennialDog@mastodon.social Honestly I just love listening to people being passionate about the stuff they love even if I'm not personally into it.

Also I'm still not over this but it fucking rules that we can have genuine conversations like this without the omnipresent fear of some irony-poisoned birdsite rando shitting all over everything.

@MillennialDog@mastodon.social I mean I kind of live under a rock, as regards to my music exposure.

That said, I recognize Walking Away so I must have heard them at some point in the past, and blanked on the name.

@MillennialDog@mastodon.social [takes notes]

Never heard either one but I'm always looking for new stuff to listen to. :3

Ska is good. Anyone that says otherwise is a coward who hates fun.

racism

@thingywott Nah they never actually POSTED the word, just alluded to Gboard autocorrecting it, so technically there's nothing to act upon.

Heck I gotta teach Gboard how to cuss properly, nevermind using slurs.

racism

Someone scrolled by on my fed timeline complaining Gboard autocorrected to a racial slur and I'm like... 🤔

Gboard didn't learn that word on its own. I know cuz I use it too. I just tried to get it to suggest it and nope, nothing doing.

Way to play yourself, stranger. :u

@Vaerinn @IrisKalmia @Nerts I have no idea what any of this means but you all seem to be enjoying talking about it so I'm just basking in your positive energy tbh. :3

@Nerts I mean, if you can't pilot a thousand-ton war machine with your junk out what's even the point of living, really? :u

Lewd art stream link

Once again I remind all you lovely fucks that I do stream art, even if I have like 40 images now I need to get around to posting <_<

I'll get on it, I swear.
