Poor Koko is scared to be away from her family for the first time. Holding her in my arms at the terminal I couldn't stop crying because I could feel the tension in her.
Now that we're on the ferry and she's curled up in her bed, she's starting to calm down a bit. She's such a quiet and sweet little dog...
Nostalgia
Part of it had to do with the local Daiso stocking curry cup noodles and baby star ramen chips. Two things I haven't had since I studied abroad six years ago.
Adopting a Shiba (cont.)
Given my current work situation is outdoors, I can easily set her up under a tree with food and water and take her for walks during lunch.
Adopting a Shiba
Cleaned out my place in preparation for meeting this darling! Koko is a 3 year old shiba inu from a family with three children. In no other circumstance would I consider adopting a Shiba. The aggressive traits were trained out of her so she's playful, well behaved, and gets along with animals incredibly well!
She has allergic breakouts on her belly arrtibuted to fur loss, which may mean it's a chemical like laundry detergent or fertilizer. It's growing back, slowly but surely.
Henlo frens-- A dear friend of mine needs your help!
Her name is Natasha; she's disabled and trans, living in the DC area. She lost her job shortly after the car wreck that took the regular use of her legs from her. But good news!! It sounds like she's about to be extended a job offer that should get her financially stable again! She's way short on rent this month though and could really use some help!

"Jack the Corgi Puppy: Day Three" [0:53]
It's always a jarring experience to go into downtown Seattle. A dimension separate from everything around it. I could be in any city and the chaos is always the same. Skittering at rhe feet of skyscrapers that are the belittling hallmark of industry.
The main exception is the rustic and intimate Pike Place Market. Which feels more like Diagon Alley than the sense of cold, dystopian foreboding that's seen in the rest of Downtown.
