This is the Hummingbird hawk moth! A large hawk moth from Afro-Eurasia!
It is NOT an example of mimicry as it does not co-occur with hummingbirds (which only live in America). Rather it's convergently evolved a hummingbird like body because it fills a similar niche!
It has been shown to have a remarkable ability to learn colors (presumably for flower recognition). It also is able to recognize which nectaries its already fed from in a feeding session, through unknown means.
