digital card games, valve

speaking with some friends about digital TCGs, and I hadn't realised that Artifact - Valve's addition to the genre, featuring concepts from IRL TCGS like artifical scarcity and variable card pricing that shouldn't be part of a digital product - has an upfront cost to start.

That feels extra greedy to me when the game is so microtransaction focused? If I'm paying an upfront cost for a card game then I expect a single player campaign that lets you unlock most cards.

On the plus side, I also learned that Artifact isn't currently even within the top 100 games on Steam by current players - way below games such as Just Cause 3, Cities Skylines, Hollow Knight, Sims 3, and L4D2.

(Also I now have an urge to find a translation patch for Pokémon TCG GB 2)

@Dex There is a translation patch and we've played it, though I couldn't say where we found it. If you can't find it yourself, feel free to ask me or Fel and we'll see if we can't dig it up off our computer.

@Rosemary I was going to use the one from here : romhacking.net/translations/17
