@maidofclay @Rosemary it was based on a thing called a blish lock which functioned under the false idea that different metals had different coefficients of friction based on the pressure in the chamber. So had a weird brass mechanism on its bolt.

Turns out that was entirely wrong but it basically functioned as a simple blowback gun. When ww2 happened the army would streamline the gun and remove this mechanism that did nothing.
