While we understand the reasons for it, the fact that the SATA power connector has more pins than the data connector has always felt odd to us.

@daylight we've wanted to see Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia in Smash for a while, too, and some representation from Baten Kaitos, too. Just having Kalas or Xelha or Sagi or Guillo or anyone, really, as an assist trophy would be nice.

@daylight we're not very familiar with binding of isaac, but the name made me think that seeing Isaac from Golden Sun in Smash would be pretty great

nintendo direct

@daylight In reference to what game?

...why did we not realize until just now that ground-type pokemon aren't resistant to fire? I thought this rom hack had changed that for some reason, but no, they just aren't.

@pearshapes Do you mean four gigabytes more than you had before, or four gigabytes total? It might be time to start looking at an upgrade if you mean four total!

@JulieSqveakaroo That sounds like fun, it's a pity we'll be asleep when you get around to it.

@Dex Top-of-the-line graphics in that computer, there!

@mawr At least, any simple answer will turn out to have complications and generally make the situation worse.

@Vordus Hmm. It seems like something that should be industry standard.

Still doesn't explain Sony's inconsistency, though.

Why is it that Nintendo has their buttons as
X
Y A
B

but Microsoft uses
Y
X B
A
?

It seems like an inconvenient way of doing things that just results in muscle memory mixups. And Sony's no better just because they don't use letters; Playstation games aren't even consistent on which of O or X is accept or cancel!

anxiety ish

@daylight you've always seemed firmly nonbinary to us.

@pearshapes you'd be surprised at how well some power supplies can tolerate short circuits. We've seen some (not computer ones, though) rated to be able to withstand an indefinite continuous short circuit on their output. In the context of lab power supplies, it might even be the case that they're usually rated for that.

@pearshapes I wonder if the power supply failure is related to the mis-connected graphics card... Either way, it sounds like your power supply was on the way out anyway.

@pearshapes It's good that you were able to notice before it caught fire!
