@monorail One thing Felthry forgot to mention about it is that it is pretty light. It comes with weights you can put in to adjust it, but even with all of them in, it's not as heavy as the wireless ones we're used to.

this is a rosey maple moth and it's almost too cute to be real

@peachsnout@yiff.life I can't help but read "falloc" as some variant of the C memory-allocation command malloc.

@Balina There are interesting ways you could go from it. A few guiding questions, should you want them: Did the people who wrote the book know how it worked, or were they just following an arcane formula they didn't understand? Is the book itself the source of the magic, or does it merely manipulate forces that already exist? What happens if the book gets damaged; is it capable of repairing itself, or is it possible to get it repaired by an ancient sect of warlocks or something?

@Nine Hmm, the setting sounds interesting but I'm not sure how much we'd like it. Shooters aren't our style, generally.

@Nine Is this a video game, or a movie, or a tv series?

@Nine Wiktionary would be the better choice to look it up on, I think.

@Nine I assume it goes back to the use of plaster casts, but I can't see much of a relationship beyond that they're both used for injuries.

@Nine I take it plaster is the term for an adhesive bandage in your dialect?

@daylight It's more appropriate to say that they're both derived from a common origin, the Latin word senex, meaning "old man".

@Terrana@tootplanet.space Whatever caused it, here's hoping it heals up soon.

@Terrana@tootplanet.space Oof. Did you catch it in a door?

@ashiinu@snouts.online All tolled, that's one of the better things to suddenly find buried in your stuff.

@JulieSqveakaroo I hope they turn out to be cheap. If we could get a few dozen for $20 or so it might be a worthwhile thing to do, just get some of those and plant them around the city.

I wonder how feasible it would be to get some of those plastic signs--the kind people use to show support for political candidates and such--custom printed to say something along the lines of

"This sign isn't here to sell you anything, or to convince you of anything; it just wants to tell you to have a nice day"

To anyone wanting to add me on discord, because this has happened a few times now:

Please, let me know who you are first! I ignore any friend requests when I don't know who the person sending it is or just haven't interacted with them at all.
