@ruca 3d printing hollow items has very strict requirements on the geometry of the item, most notably that it can't have any areas too close to horizontal (they would fall off before enough gets printed to support their own weight).
@pearshapes That's okay, then. If it does have six-pin connectors, you can get adapters very easily that convert two six-pin connectors into one eight-pin one. In fact, we have one of those that came with our graphics card that we're not using, we could probably send it to you cheap if you want. It might be easier or faster for you to get it somewhere local, though.
@pearshapes What model is your power supply, do you know?
@pearshapes All graphics cards use the same power connector, or at least one of two; there's a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connector. Most power supplies, to our understanding, come with at least one cable for that. Often they'll have what's called a "6 + 2" pin connector, which is simply a six-pin connector that also has a two-pin connector that you can add to turn it into an 8-pin connector; they look like the image below.
@pearshapes Don't feel too guilty if you did damage the card. The connectors that they use for these things are poorly designed to the point that you can force them into each other quite easily even if they're keyed differently.
@pearshapes Does your power supply not have an 8-pin PCIe power connector?
@pearshapes You've applied reverse polarity power to the card; the EPS connector has the +12V on the opposite side of the connector than the PCIe connector. I couldn't tell you whether that fried your card or not, not without knowing more details about the way the card is designed, but I would suggest you start looking into the RMA process.
@pearshapes could you elaborate on what exactly you did and what connector you used? We might be able to help you figure out whether you need to send the card back or not.
@ulvra I think so. Thank you.
@HubOfMany Good morning. How are you today?
@ronja Should you need any support, you need only ask. <3
@pearshapes Be well.
@pearshapes I don't think you yourself are in any danger, at least.
@pearshapes We do, but don't have the spoons to talk about it. Sorry.
@pearshapes You probably don't want to know the details.
