If we were to get a PSP to hack and play old games on (we've heard they're very easy to softmod), does anyone have any suggestions for which model to get? There's the PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, and then a few sub-models of those apparently, and the ill-fated PSP Go model.

"Well, the short answer is 'no'. The long answer is 'yes'."

We just got some new LED lightbulbs, and for some reason, they have printed on them, "Caution: Suitable for damp areas". I'm not sure why that requires caution.

Boys with skirts.

Boost if you agree.

(yep, this is a re-edition, the first one died with my previous instance)

It's really unfortunate that the great vowel shift happened basically immediately after English spelling became fixed.

I just found what seems to be an octant of a peppercorn in our keyboard.

I’m sure I’ve said it before but this is such an incredible joke

If you want to tell someone that they're mistaken... Just say that! Don't start brandishing classical logic at them.

New rule for us: If someone starts talking about "engaging in sophistry" and detailing every way our statement is "logically invalid", we will ignore that person from then on.

No one who talks like that acts in good faith. At least none we've seen.

Waiting to hear back from someone is agonizing, sometimes. There's the painful stress of "will they even answer at all", too.

Thanks to @nightpool for this #mastoadmin tip:

When witches.town goes down in the next few days, you may notice Mastodon running more slowly, as Sidekiq workers try to contact it and have to wait for the request to time out before they can move on to the next job.

To handle this, AFTER w.t goes down, log into your server on the back end, run `redis-cli`, and enter:

sadd unavailable_inboxes witches.town/inbox

This tells Mastodon not to bother trying to talk to witches.town.

I've been fronting for over a full day now. This is interesting!
