I am rewatching 2019's film adaptation of Little Women and transported away all over again. God, the pacing. The tightness of the editing. The choice of color palettes to denote what era each scene is in. The way a traumatic scene just ends like a traumatic memory does. Gerwig is a director I will buy a ticket for sight unseen.

@SkunkyLass Oh gods, everything about that movie was so good. It immediately became one of my favorites. It was one of the last films I saw in theaters before covid and if it's one of the last I see in that format for years (hopefully not) it will have been the right one

@elsilnora My last one was Sonic the Hedgehog, sadly, and I want theatres to hang on just so that doesn't become the last one ever

But yes, it's so good, and I'm glad that your moviegoing experience went on vacation on such a high note.

@SkunkyLass Maybe I'm naive, but I'm optimistic that they'll hang on, even if we lose some

@SkunkyLass (My very last was Birds of Prey which I don't regret at all, though I liked Little Women a lot more)

@elsilnora Not a bad endnote! And yeah, we'll lose some, but those buildings will probably find new life under new owners once All This is over.
