Wow, I know translations (and maybe original texts) in old games sometimes had some pretty bad insinuations, but the entire "Fat Queen" arc in BoF2 is just... really... really bad, huh

Remember that Star Trek TNG episode "The Game"?
And how a bunch of us probably snarked about how that was barely a game because we were young and bad?

I'm pretty sure it might have actually been prescient

Oh no
They're... really not having any luck with this last batch of mystery games

They had to abandon one because of a game breaking bug
Now on this one, the game's speed is dependent on framerate

Wow, two completely unrelated people, racing a game neither had ever seen before, just finished so close that they don't actually know who won and have to go back to review the videos to be sure.

Basically, a bunch of speedrunners play a bunch of obscure games they've never seen before

re: canpoli, dysphoria, anxiety, panic (-)

@Nurbs like, I know phones = anxiety... I did call centre support for a while and I totally feel this.

Buuuuuuut it's a lot easier to put off answering an email than it is someone on a phone, so maybe that's a step if they don't get back to you soon?

Someone tweeted "Slaty Egret" but I read it as "Salty Egret" and felt kinda called out

There was something kind of quirky and endearing about old, poorly translated games from the SNES(-ish) area. Like, you could still usually tell what they meant, but it was never QUITE right.

"You spoony bard!"

Whoa! I love that leopard gecko pattern on a cat

re: GRS, aftercare

@Flora@meemu.org @Nurbs for real though, it's still really really soon after, and I know it probably isn't much help to you right now, but I'm sure things will settle down and you'll get a better handle on all of it soon enough

re: GRS, aftercare

@Flora@meemu.org @Nurbs nurbs never told us you weren't fully housebroken D:

My only option to get it to stop squawking loudly at me for some reason I can't figure out (again, does not even have a battery bay) was to turn off the power and remove it completely.

Forcing me to totally disable the unit is OBVIOUSLY preferable to just letting me silence it.

Ah yes, very good that my smoke detector, which is hardwired into my apartment ceiling, has decided to start chirping loudly at 10pm. This is going to help me sleep.

The silence button does nothing. I don't have a 9v battery, and it doesn't have a battery bay anyway??

There's a GDQ Mystery Torunament on now. Where they throw players into games they've never seen before in blind races until they have a winner! It's pretty alright.

You know, I don't really know what the actual real-world, practical pros/cons are for semi-independent political regions like states or provinces inside a larger country, but they sure have been used a lot lately to decide that certain types of people aren't people.
