Why do I keep stumbling into computer problems that, on the surface, sound trivial to fix, yet prove bafflingly impossible?

Win10 technobabble

My MS Word has stopped printing *some* pages but not others. Files that printed last month cannot be printed this month. Pages are corrupt or blank.
After printing the corrupt pages, Word reports ugly error messages such as "There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the correct font." (This message appears after the printing, not before.) Word will then show aberrant behavior, such as inability to click on menu items or to use keyboard commands.
— Repaired MS Office install: didn't fix it.
— Removed fonts and reinstalled: didn't fix it.
— Purged the font cache: didn't fix it.
— System restore: didn't fix it.
🙁

@Soreth

Yes, I have tried that. The error happens no matter which printer I use. Some printers print corrupt pages, others just fail to print at all.

re: Win10 technobabble

@xinjinmeng Huh, weird. I'd uninstall and reinstall Office at that point, "repair" as a function doesn't really seem to work that much for me with things. I hope you can get it fixed up!
