whenever I hear Magic R&D say 'we can't give White better card-draw from creatures, it would infringe on Green' I think about Masked Vandal and get weirdly angry in a way I have to yell at people on the internet about. if 'overlap' is the problem why does Green get exile effects?
meanwhile, White had to wait HOW many years before it got a color-shifted Beast Within? like 8 or 9? Green decks aren't even USING Beast Within anymore, they have Kenrith's Transformation now
@hystericempress From what I hear according to the latest color pie changes, green isn't getting "destroy a creature, replace it with blah" effects from now on. I guess it's just a white thing now. Feels weird, even if it makes sense for White's "sorry I had to destroy your thing, here's something else to make it up to you" feels.
@hystericempress Yyyyeah, consistency in color pie has been.... a weird ass thing for a while. Ram Through should probably have a 🔥 in the costing cost.
@Soreth My main problem is lack of consistency. Green... still has all the things green has always had, whereas White is only now getting things it should have had all along. Meanwhile newer Green cards are staking this giant "MINE" claim in card-draw, and combat tricks, and even what are effectively burn spells. like, it's a neat design, but Ram Through for example is a MESSED-UP card if you think about it for a second:
