I did a messy thread on Twitter about how we shouldn't be surprised that male white supremacists seek out and are married to (often East) Asian women.

It was messy but like... man I'm frustrated, this isn't surprising if three big name white supremacists (Chapman, Spencer, McInnes) all had relationships with Asian women and there are more and more and more men like them at every turn. Stop being surprised.

These male white supremacists/alt-righters (heretofore referred to as scumbags) often have unchecked raging Asian fetishes, which, as we know, come from a long ass legacy of Western imperialism in East and Southeast Asia (we can talk about South Asia too but right now I'm focusing on E and SE Asia).

Check out "White Sexual Imperialism: A Theory of Asian Feminist Jurisprudence" for more concrete history behind fetishizing Asian women. bit.ly/1hWtVDF

This is just a buzzfeed video, so it's not as scholarly as the article you linked (which, thank you, bookmarking that) but it discusses the inverse of the Asian girl fetish- why Asian men aren't considered attractive in the US.

@Sparrow oh I’m well aware of that history too. And this has everything to do with (gendered) labor, Imperialism, and the preservation of white supremacist masculinity

Which often becomes toxic when E Asian American men latch onto the idea of “emasculation” and think of sexual desirability as liberation

Ah, I hadn't thought about that. Agreed.
