I mean that's fair. That's definitely an experience, like you said.

I have so much trouble even listening to my friends when they all talk over each other; parsing the different conversation threads at once is difficult for me.

Watching 6 episodes of a show at once just sounds super overwhelming to me. My brain would fritz out. 😅

@Sparrow i guess i wanted to induce the fritzing in a safe way! i have trouble with that exact thing too so i def wouldn't like spring it on someone who wasn't into it

hey do you get the thing where like, if a tv show is on, and then someone starts talking, it's like you have to pay attention to both and then you get neither ? >.>

Oooh, I think I understand what you mean. Like you're challenging yourself. Sort of like aversion therapy. I can get behind that, I'd just have to have enough spoons first.

And YUP. Totally. Those situations are really challenging for me.

@Sparrow yeah ! i guess it's just like, exploration really. self therapy is very slow and cautious and underconfident sometimes. i don't know for sure if it's something i can 'overcome' or not but i might find one or two factors i can control yk? or ways to enhance my coping

but yeah it's taken me a lot of isolating and self-soothing to get to where i can do that, and privilege made that possible. hope you have the fortune sometime also

Yeah, I get that. I'm working on that sort of thing in other ways, but that might be an interesting avenue for me to explore sometime.

And yeah, I don't believe that it's possible to really "overcome" that sort of mental health stuff; instead you just gain skills to be able to cope with things more effectively.
