@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social got it. OH WELL. Is anyone working on a more functional version, or is that too much for a non-computer pleb-type like myself to ask for?

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social Wouldn't the solution just be to make a number of different lists, and ignore your home time line? Or is the problem there that because you don't show up in lists yourself, it becomes incoherent?

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social Anyway I gotcha, it's not a well-executed feature, but knowing that *some* measure of organization exists whereas before I thought there was none is marginally better.

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social @Efi oh, like it's just a goofy screencap? lol gotcha

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social @Efi

What's up with Efi? Why god damn...?

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social I didn't need them for a long time but now that I've followed more people on here, lists are a super handy feature.

... well, in theory anyway.

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social Lists. I didn't realize lists were a thing lmfao.

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social WAIT HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN A THING

Omg this is a good feature

@confusedcharlot (re: last post: oops I stared too long into the void & the void stared back)

@confusedcharlot though I'm sure some part of it also comes from the thrill of "there are things I'd want to do but I'm too scared to actually do, so imagining someone else in charge shifts the responsibility off me while still letting me do the thing I want to do"

@confusedcharlot anyway mine sounds like it could be super sexual for someone else, but for me it's more about being passive and observing what someone else would do with my body from a "morbid curiosity" standpoint.

@confusedcharlot yeah. I think "non sexual fetish" or "non sexual kink" is probably the best. Like dictionary-definition wise, yeah, those are supposed to be sexual things. But language evolves and I've definitely heard people use those words casually to refer to non sexual fixations or fantasies, too.

@confusedcharlot Hm, I wouldn't necessarily think so. I think a fetish is when a high degree of sexual desire is linked to a particular object or part of the body. This isn't really about a concrete object, so much as an abstract idea.

@LottieVixen@dev.glitch.social Really? How would you define them then? I'm not asking to challenge you, I'm genuinely curious.

My example

My example goes back to childhood, when I first read Animorphs and thought "it would be really interesting to be controlled by a yerk, and just observe someone else control my body. See what they do with it."

What's a word for something that's kinda like a kink, in that it's deeply subconscious and gratifying, but not about sexuality or attraction? Like a deep, perhaps "taboo" desire, that isn't necessarily sexual in nature?

So it turns out Red Le Fey is reading Animorphs tonight, so thaaaat's kinda perfect and about as close as I'll get tonight to "cutie reading me stories while I cuddle up with them".

@ruth I feel that. <3 I'm in a similar place myself. It's tough, I have trouble completely letting go of even people I'm comfortable moving on from. For example, I hardly think of my friends from high school on a daily basis, but I dream about hanging out with them almost every night! It's bizarre, really.

With other people, my subconscious and conscious mind are on the same page about having trouble moving on from.

@ruth thank you for your wisdom and perspective~ <3 that's absolutely true. I feel melancholy tonight (mainly about people/experiences I have left behind) but there are wonderful aspects about growing up, too.
