Tarot read (using your deck)
So I used a Wheel of Fortune read with your deck to decide if I should adopt my friend's kitten. It's a cool read, where you ask your Y/N Q to the main deck (with wheel card pulled out), pull 7 cards, shuffle them in with the wheel, then arrange them: Clockwise from left it's "Yes- and", "Yes", "No- but", and "No".
I interpreted my reading as "Don't get a kitten now, wait until your home life is stable", which is sensible. It's a useful spread!
Let's talk about this selection of new teen books we just got in at the library. https://awoo.space/media/qj235v05dBFYf--IqRs
Okay this is too cute.
Name update:
After some thought, I do prefer the names Sparrow and Danika over Tobi.
Danika works well for formal situations, family, and friends who have known me a long time.
Sparrow is good for casual and/or queer events, online, and as a friendly nickname.
I do strongly prefer they/them pronouns over "she". And I will gently correct folks about this.
Ppl can read gender into my name however they like, but it's my name, my gender, and I know who I am and how I identify.
Are you queer or gender nonconforming? We need your help!
My little sister is a high school teacher who's looking for queer & gender non-conforming students to answer a few questions about how she can best support them in the classroom!

Please boost this! Thank you! ♥️
I would really love to do research into the intersections of queer studies, disability, and science fiction. I'm sure there's a grad program for this, but it would be hard to justify to myself unless I'm also doing activism on the ground to directly benefit people. Ivory tower studying by itself feels self-indulgent.
Uninformed Hobbit Observation
Watching the third Hobbit. It's not great, but the completionist in me does want to finish watching.
ANYWAY, watching the movie and not yet knowing the full history of Tolkien Orcs, I really like the artistic decision taken by the film to attach weaponry to the orcs' amputated limbs, armor embedded in skin, etc.
Body modification & cyborg imagery in Middle Earth has just as interesting social implications as it does in any sci fi universe.
