I keep discovering that it’s not my headphones that sound like ass, it’s the pop music I keep trying to play through them, and when I switch to indie music it sounds dramatically better with the same eq settings.
To make pop music sound tolerable, I have to set the EQ to maximum V-shape. I guess it’s mixed for cheap headphones trying to make an impact, and well-balanced headphones just sound like underwhelming ass because the sound file was anti-equalized against V-shaped assphones
@kistaro Equalising for shitty headphones?? That sounds both awful and also completely understandable for mass-market use... ...
