perception musing, furry/nonhumanity

you ever think about how furry and nonhuman circles are, like, the only places on this planet considering identity beyond the scope of being human and yet we exist here at the same time as humanity is just starting to realize things like "things inside your head matter" and "you're more than physical appearance or birth circumstance"

re: perception musing, furry/nonhumanity

Like, it.... doesn't feel like we should ~be~ here yet. Like we emerged too early. Either that or it feels like Humanity is too far behind, which might be closer to the truth. I could muse about historical events that absolutely took us back so many years in knowledge and study, but i guess what i mean here is a mix of "I feel like i'm not supposed to technically be alive during this period of time" and "We were supposed to, at this point, be pretty comfortable with even nonbinary existence" and yet here we are

re: perception musing, queerphobia mention

@Oneironott I suspect it's mostly the latter because, as a comparison, I'm pretty sure trans/gay/queer/etc people existed way back into history but historians are dumb and cis and try to write them out...
Even in the cases where stuff was culturally repressed during history, those feelings were certainly there in the sorts of writings historical artists and musicians have made.

re: perception musing, queerphobia mention

@Taylor Yeah i was particularly thinking of Hirschfeld's institute of sexology in that. I think a lot about how much was lost due to the nazi's alone
