More people need to make fursonas.
Seriously.
I recognise people by their avatars, such that if I associate someone with... say, using an avatar of Madeline from Celeste, when I see someone else with the same avatar, I briefly think it's the same person.
Make your own fursonas. Get commissions. Use them as avatars. Be you, not just an ambiguous manifestation with an arbitrary name and face.
@Taylor You don't need to have a character to have a fursona, though!
I don't have a character, I'm just me.
@Taylor [Of course whether I have a fursona is debatable, but it fits the fursona thing here.]
@IceWolf Oh I mean, all my friends had many different characters because we were all creators and artists and the like. Characters as broader writing tools and elements of ourselves rather than wholesale identities.
I say fursona as a general "representation of you" for applicability to a concise post~. The character/OC stuff is kind of a tangent~. . w.
@Taylor .m we still don't have any commissions… >.<
we really should at least make some kind of color block pixel art thing to use as a profile pic
@IceWolf @moonbolt I mostly suggest commissions because not everyone is an artist. Even if I would like more people to do art and create things. It means you can bring to the world things you want to see that you might not otherwise~.
But if that's too foreboding, commissioning other artists to help is good too... it's what helped with this dragon form...
Sure, you don't have to make a fursona. In the past we had personas and OCs or fan characters and we RPed on IRC all the time. We at least had characters.
That stuff seems unheard of now because we all live on social media and services that don't have allowances for that sort of experience and interaction. But that's a whole other subject and point of frustration.
Point is though, is that I wanna see everyone's avatars be unique representations of themselves. Isn't it boring otherwise?
