fiction, trauma

.hg Why do characters in movies and stuff never get fucking traumatized?

They go through some /pretty damn horrific stuff./ Most creatures /actually/ experiencing that would come out with /issues/, surely.

But, no, it's always like, okay, we defeated the Bad or overcame the whatever, we're all fine now, everything is back to normal!

@moonbolt I think part of it is stories often are built to serve a purpose, to have a narrative curve and build. Thus stories generally end after all the fighting is over.

Some cases you do have explorations of trauma! But they're generally their own stories and thus begin after the fighting is all over.

Even with my own ideas, the traumas of the characters are things they already have and are triggered by in-story events.
