We've been setting up our FA (furaffinity.net/user/tayruu/) on the chance it's going to get more hits as furries go back to it, and then remembered... oh right we should probably add "don't add my art to e621" to our profile because otherwise lurkers that use artists like a commodity will make off with our uploads. :T

@Taylor

Hmm

Speaking of furry social media pages, I should poke at weasyl... Also keep forgetting to check up on why people don't use it (much?)

@saphire ~Network effects~. Once people are convinced one site is where the users are, and another is "dead", they just don't bother.

@Taylor

Except now we have people stretching and splintering between Fediverse, Cohost and Tumblr... and then more people running off into entirely different directions from that too

@saphire I feel that ought to be okay, it's how things used to be! We had different forums, websites... heck there were like 3-5 art sites in the mid-00s really.
Personally, I think we should be using what fits our particular use cases, not all crammed on the same site...

@Taylor

All I am aware of is deviantart.. which went to shit and got bought by a mediocre-to-awful site builder company

...their sites can be "okay" but most of the time people go over the top and make it into a laggy mess from what I've seen

@saphire I didn't know they even got bought out, I just knew the UX got... pretty bad~. It just came off to me as a need to retain relevance, so they wanted all the modern bells and whistles.
And then they got rid of categories. Good luck finding stuff now.

@Taylor oh it got bought by Wix a few years ago ^^'

Then they rolled out "the redesign"...
