re: paws reference, mild

@Goldkin Why not both?

re: x4, space capitalism

@Goldkin This is where my weird fantasy of wanting to just go for a "swim" through space comes in... let me float off and explore the cosmos.

Might need to be able to at the speed of light though. There's a lot of empty space in, space...

a "save the princess" metroidvania but you can switch freely between hero & princess & decide just how much of a role he plays in saving her. how much of a role he plays also has an impact on their relationship & how they perceive one another & themselves.

re: pooltoy, some horny some serious

@Nystre@blimps.xyz @Eon I have definitely used "its" before for a depersonalisation/objectifying toy reason, but I can definitely see its simple appeal. It seems perfect for a toony-creature such as yourself.

re: pooltoy, some horny some serious

@Nystre@blimps.xyz @Eon God I'm just, the same on all of this. I have a lot of things I'm "into" but also I just enjoy the aesthetic and emotional experiences too. The line between horny and not is... fuzzy.

@frengers I love the seams, the creases... just how... toyish this picture looks, still.

kf, transphobia, harassment and suicide

There are TWO separate deaths today that can be attributed to KF, and that they are actively celebrating.

Yet some "leftists" have the gall to say that they are really acting with justice when they join with KF in hatred.

Digimon's plot has always been basically We Made AI in the 80s and now Isekai Anime Is Real.

Dub audio pondering

What I then wonder, is why did dubs feel the need to fill their audio with extra lines, or even replace intentional ambience/music choices with repetitive tracks?

There's at least one evolution/card slash sequence in Tamers where the music of the scene continues instead of the usual theme. Usually a mysterious or sombre theme. The dub would just use the usual action theme every time.

Is it that dubbers felt that w̶e̶s̶t̶e̶r̶n̶ American kids wouldn't be engaged? Would US kids *not* have been engaged? Or was it a self-fulfilling design choice, where by presuming kids wouldn't appreciate certain audio design and filling dubs with noise, that is exactly what kids ended up desiring?

Watching fansubbed Digimon Tamers and every so often I find myself thinking "the dub would have filed this silent section with nonsense throwaway lines".

I feel like old dubs maybe didn't have much respect for the sound design of their source material.

@eevee I completely forgot about this.
It's wild being an "adult" with no school - you just suddenly notice kids everywhere and it's like "oh right, school holidays".

@eevee I commented on this in the stream but, again, I love it.

@frengers I've always called them valves, I'm not sure if there's any technical difference.

@Nystre@blimps.xyz Good toys have good pronouns like "its"... ...

I haven't been keeping up with posting page previews and stuff, but I've posted several pages since last posting here, and also a page that's going to lead into video update stuff this upcoming month

Remember when the most DRM you had to worry about was managing dozens of registration keys for all your OS versions and game expansion packs?

... remember when the most egregious money making scheme in the game industry was expansion packs?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I wish the tech industry didn't actively fight against the right to, just, own things.
But I understand the sentiment~.
