ever notice how social networking has trained us to share and spout any and every arbitrary thing into the void without investment in conversation, as opposed to the tighter focus that IRC and LJs gave

Cat sits on my desk watching my TV doing PS4 updates. Also generally being in the way of the screen. So I go to get my phone (camera) because it's cute, and she jumps onto my chair.

she bloody knows that works, I swear

Idle thought: the continued creation of knowledge-based gameshows perpetuates the presumption that knowing specific things is seen as worth more than the ability to research things.

And that's not even getting into gameshows slanted more towards knowing about celebrities.

... actually you could probably argue gameshows with money as reward (or nothing) are manipulative but

> lets cat in
> lets cat out again
> lets cat in
> lets cat out, leaves door open to let her decide for herself
> closes door when cat has wandered off
> lets cat in
> lets cat out again

I appreciate Mastodon adding a single-column "mobile" view mode as it's much cleaner than multi-column hell, but I wish I could also force it to use the tab-based mode rather than putting links in a list on the right side.

It's especially disorientating when Twitter's own UI's gone from tab-based to a link list on the *left*.

This "Karen" everyone mentions sure seems to have an issue with a lot of things.
They must be stopped, before they invalidate everything.

OS customisation ramble

Because of my high DPI screen, all icon customisation iPacks I've had experience with fail to give proper symbolic icons to my explorer sidebar - because the symbolic icons are 16px, while my screen renders the 32px versions.

I tried setting each folder manually, but for some reason some folders wouldn't change, while others would. I have no idea why it was behaving like this, given they're all system folders.

In the end I just did extra patching by hand, but now my sidebar actually looks nice. Gave custom folder icons to some of my own folders too.

You know, it's been so long since I watched the dub that I can only imagine the Japanese VA saying bread. And I'm not sure "bread" ever is said, even in the context of "Guilmon bread".

I don't know if it's just nostalgia goggles but Windows 95-type explorer just had the right idea. You could customise the toolbars, and choose which ones you want.

Now you have massive-ass ribbons, you have to have them all visible, and I can never tell where anything is.

... and the best I can do with customisation on W10 is to just hide everything, showing a menu when I press Alt...

Minor PQ2 spoilers (dialogue)

<P4 chars> uh, it's 2011, right?
<P5 chars> what are you talking about, it's... uh... what year IS it?

Come now guys, you can just say you come from 2016, everyone knows.
(Note: P5 calls the year 20XX.)

And FeMC chimes in with "oh yeah, it's 2009!" and makes things even more a mess, bwahaha.

I'm sorry I'm filling up this place with various 3DS screenshots. I build up screenshots I take because it's a hassle to get them *off*, since it means getting to the SD card underneath the back panel...

Minor PQ2 spoilers (FeMC intro)

It's her...

Man, am I going to have to name every protagonist? What am I going to name P3 and P4 Hero...

7th Dragon III lets you date your party members, and because the genders are entirely cosmetic (ala Etrian Odyssey) you can just, be gay.
