Ziset, Destroyer of Men
... excellent.
... not me, just saying it's excellent.
religion and calendars
I wonder what it would take for another calendar numbering shift to occur. Like, some bozos introduced "BC" and "AD" and numbered the years around that.
I guess it was mostly for a more accurate calendar, but the BC/AD thing was We Sure Apotheosise This One Guy.
There probably won't be a new calendar system unless we realise the current one has been off this whole time or blow something up and throw off the orbit.
Which in turn means there may be no excuse for new year numbering. Especially when we've built computers around this one.
Broke: given infinite time and possibilities, there ought to be thousands of people travelling back in time as tourists or interventionists to various eras.
Since there is not, it means time travel is impossible.
Woke: given infinite time and possibilities, there would be equally infinite timelines no one ends up travelling to specific eras for, and we just happen to be in that one.

And then I did it again... while the first one was the general concept I originally had, I think this one better captures the power and oomph I wanted to express...
... I felt a spontaneous need to roar earlier, for some reason. I think it's a dragon thing.
But since it's the dead of the night and this vessel doesn't suit that sort of thing, I drew it instead.
capitalism, environmentalism
I saw two versions of standard-fat "blue" milk a few days ago for sale, where the only distinction was the price of the fucking bottle.
Standard blue: 3.99NZD
"Plant-based" bottle: 4.69NZD
I don't know if this is consumerism masquerading as environmentalism, or capitalism defiling environmentalism.
Or both.
squeak, commission, property damage
This is really good and is only further validating this identityfeeling...? Not, like, the destruction part, just the sense of presence, and all those creases and seams. @ -@
dreams are weird
Last nights dreams were... something...
The first one was about an Ace Attorney 4 (Apollo Justice) remake with fully-animated anime cutscenes. Or maybe just an Apollo Justice anime. It was full-on moody lighting in the courtroom as Apollo and some Godot-esque prosecutor stared each other down and the judge grumbled about court antics.
The second I was going to a bookstore looking for Terry Pratchett books. Instead I found a big hardcover coffee table book... about pronouns. A big collection of pronouns and their uses, paired with pretty photography.
squeak, commission
This is me now... perhaps...
Outer Wilds ending spoilers, dream
Last night I had an Outer Wilds themed dream. It gets into major spoilers~.
It was one of those "not sure if dream reality or a game even in the dream" dreams. I'm not sure if I was me (whatever I am) or the game's protagonist species either.
Regardless, I discovered that of the various locations the Giant's Deep probe was sent, one got sent into a black hole that went off to a new planet.
This planet was marshy, full of giant bouncy mushrooms and swampy areas. It was also inhabited... by mushroom-y feral dinosaur creatures, implied to be the descendants of the Nomai after millions of years. While they seemed intelligent, I'm not sure I could communicate with them. I petted some of their heads and explored around their village, which seemed like the Poncle Village from Okami with how it was haphazardly constructed from wood, sticks, and... mushrooms.
It seems that besides seeking out the Eye of the Universe, the Nomai also found this planet and tried to colonise it. Not sure how they evolved into dinosaurs though.
... also there was still, you know, The End to be concerned about. The last star exploded, the planet went pitch dark, and then I froze solid on the spot with the lack of heat left in the universe.
My last thoughts were a bit more game-y as I was just kinda "ah, okay".
What a way to end that dream.
re: grump about this holiday
Does that mean Christmas should be celebrated at a different time of year too to coincide with the pagan winter celebrations?
yeah sure why not~
grump about this holiday, pol-ish
Once again somewhat annoyed at capitalism and Americanocentrism making it that NZ mysteriously makes a big deal about Halloween.
It's spring.
I'm pretty sure Halloween was hardly a thing in the 90s. ... or I just didn't notice.
We really should be celebrating whatever the more appropriate pagan... celebration... would be.
I'm an artist and something of a game dev living in New Zealand.
I talk about personal things that can get tangentially NSFW. While I wouldn't call this an after-dark account, it's kind of a mishmash personal account and prefer to mingle with people I know or trust.
