VR development pining
god can we get VR tracking that adapts for feral...
Like some sort of full-body tracking that attempts to guess what kind of pose you're making for a feral posture. Standing up will still be biped, but crouched sitting, laying on your belly, things like that, would be adapted into more feral poses instead of weird polygon folding.
Just thinking about being a giant feral dragon that's looking down upon my small friends, for, reasons... ...
cursed isekai concept, body horror
When transported to another world, the magic takes all of "you" to that world. The magic only classifies your brain and nervous system as "you", leaving your brainless/nerveless body behind.
Perhaps the magic ritual follows up with growing you a new body, but good luck getting back to your original world. It may require some form of magic on the Earth side as well to reverse the process, given your original body is likely to up and fail shortly after your leave.
I'm dragon... sleek tail and neck... flutter wings... stretch body... and raar... sqk...
Idle thoughts on sexuality and attraction
It's interesting how I turn up my nose at the objectifying portrayal of women by otaku nerds and a lot of fanservice, but I'm perfectly fine with fawning over non-human creatures and ogling furries in regards to their non-human traits.
Now to be fair, one of these things is part of a broader culture of the obsession over women's bodies. Me being all over tails or pear-shaped dragons or whatever else, is not likely to contribute towards the over-presence of female characters who exist only to be boobs and butt.
On the other hand, for some of us, our furry "characters" are, well, more than just characters. They are ultra personal visual representations of ourselves. Naturally in such cases, some creatures don't want randos getting murry purry over them. Anime artists probably feel the same way if they draw a pretty girl and get a bunch of nerds making creepy comments.
I dunno. I feel like it's somewhat hypocritical to presume myself (or others) to be above the attitudes of otaku/etc just because I don't like the way women get portrayed in media a lot, when there's things that I'm drawn to just as they are. But the issue is sort of different...
dream, Persona??, mind control??
I had a dream about Persona 3, only it was a first-person action game with aliens and mind control.
...
It probably wasn't even about Persona 3 as much as some other video game with its blue-haired protagonist. You could leap into the body of an alien enemy and control them, but if you did this you had to be careful you left your body (standing upright) somewhere safe.
I don't remember anything else beyond basic gameplay mechanics.
...
I've been remembering my dreams more lately, but this one is just silly.

dream, surreal horror
I had some kinda surreal dream about some kind of point-and-click + action game?
The main menu was a collection of tarot-like cards laid out in a circle area. These cards lead to sub-worlds with more cards, which lead to the gameplay stages. On the main hub there were secret clickable areas that switched the screen to some kinda dark surreal horror version with different card imagery. Another clickable area made it a more colourful and peaceful version instead.
One version of the menu screen displayed the words "THE SIGIL OF NOTHING", vertically on the side of the circle.
I don't remember much about the different worlds/stages, but one part of the dream world more realistic/non-game (once again a case of my dreams mixing up if they are "reality" in-dream or not), as it involved someone getting trapped in a collapsed cavern. It then turned out that game was ambiguous in its linearity, in that completing certain stages certain ways would affect later stages. So getting the character trapped under rubble would cause bad-ending routes for some other stages. This was also influenced by if you started the stages in the dark/light surreal versions or not.
Restarting the stage this character/I avoided going in some building/cavern, and there was some other character hanging around, seemingly some villain. I had a bow. I got right to filling this person with arrows. ... this, apparently, was to avoid the result of the previous playthrough of the stage.
I vaguely remember imagery of a character flying on a broomstick as a witch too, basically exactly as things appear in Yume Nikki when you can go for a broomstick ride off the roof of a building. I presume this was another one of the stages/chapters/etc, but I don't remember much else.
... to be fair, maybe all the Persona-users are non-human and species-fluid anyway. "I am thou, thou art I", after all.
But still, it's because Persona is more interested in exploring how people interact and their goals and roles in life, that I suspect identity as a personal meaning and "self-definition" isn't actually something it's likely to focus on. If one could create a story about the "function" behind being non-human, as a role in human society, then that's something it could possibly explore.
I'm an artist and something of a game dev living in New Zealand.
I talk about personal things that can get tangentially NSFW. While I wouldn't call this an after-dark account, it's kind of a mishmash personal account and prefer to mingle with people I know or trust.
