... and then we have the Amaterasu avatar where the camera isn't tied to the body. Nor is anything else. I can't even use calibration mode! It's probably just an old avatar version, but it's rather disheartening because there's a lot (name pokemon) in this state.
"Those don't seem that bad!" You say, well the Vulpix has a smoke-weed gag, a Wolf Link avatar went all Source Film Maker'd by twisting its geometry, and that Spyro was... glitchy.
mental heath ~/?
Do I have cPTSD? i dunno. Haven't yet worked if I'm on the spectrum or have general anxiety or whatever else either because I don't want to deal with the possibility of needing to be medicated.
... if I could get my meds in water soluble form, that would be great though.

Boy this has been on my mind lately. It took me a good few weeks to get myself to get a strap set for VR peripherals.
And don't get me started on how much of a mountain getting a new phone has been.

Twitter and social media has done so much damage to our brains.
When I used LJ, I wrote for myself and my friends. Now, because of Twitter, I worry about those that'll miss out on what I have to say if I restrict myself to the likes of Mastodon.
Who cares!! Why does it matter!! I used to be able to be satisfied with communicating with only my friend circles!!
On Memes, Birdsite
I retweeted the following over on Twitter:
can we all collectively agree to stop treating these 'unpopular opinion' posts with legitimacy and just mute/ignore them
I hate how everything on Twitter, and on social media in general, has to be communicated through memes. We've reached a point where there's a new meme weekly and everyone has to join in on sharing something they think or feel through this latest format.
I'm not denying that memes aren't a valid a form of communication, but it's obnoxious when that's all people use to communicate. They're effective because of social media algorithms encouraging "engagement", and as memes they propagate wildly.
But also as memes they're limited and samey.
It's entirely possible to share whatever take or personal factoid without flooding people's feeds. (Especially the X Like = X Post types.) People don't, because without the excuse of the memetic fad they understand it would be obnoxious.
Yet it would allow for far more nuance, something social media desperately needs.
Sometimes I think the big problems talked about in the Game Industry(tm) are really the fault of a few big American corporations.
EA, Ubisoft, 2K Games, Blizzard-Activision.
Those are the four patting each others backs for perpetuating the same sort of garbage.
Are japanese publishers capable of nonsense? Oh absolutely look at Nintendo's virtual scarcity. But I never personally run into the problems of The Triple-A Industry, because I don't play the kinds of games from those publishers.
gross, drugs politics, dumb joke
Me: The National party wants to distribute one hospital bed to each region to treat meth, but that's not how it works. Certain regions will have bigger drug problems.
Dad: The thing is, apparently they've tested the waste water and found that "P" is everywhere.
Me: well, yes
Dad: *makes a face*
On the subject of that avatar world, did VRChat change how avatars work at some point? I guess they must've when they're now putting out version 3.0.
Because there are so many pokemon avatars whose camera positions are just, broken. Floating over the avatar or inside the head. I find the same problem with an Amaterasu avatar, where the camera is basically riding Amaterasu instead of being.
It's kind of annoying, really.
I'm an artist and something of a game dev living in New Zealand.
I talk about personal things that can get tangentially NSFW. While I wouldn't call this an after-dark account, it's kind of a mishmash personal account and prefer to mingle with people I know or trust.
