We could easily have durable modular phones that last ten years or more and still perform fine with one or two upgrades along their lifetime. We'd just need to... accept them being about twice as thick as current phones and not devoid of external features.

@Thaminga You're basically buying the internal parts of your phone, which you then put into a case you acquired separately, which makes it twice as thick!
