Like, a lot of our infrastructure, and the stuff we use in our daily lives is practically -designed- to waste resources - just doing things differently on that scale (e.g. avoiding using plastic where we can help it, building appliances to last for a long time, making cities pedestrian friendly and prioritizing public transportation over cars, etc etc etc) would already go a long-ass way without actually making our lives any less comfortable (and hell, probably more so in some ways).
