nothing quite demonstrates how much of the '00s is just [ERROR: CORRUPTED MEMORY BLOCK] to me quite like going through the top 40 and recognizing little of what's there even in the years before I stopped listening to the radio, even more so after taking into account the fact I only hit the double digits age-wise in 2002
that and half of what I -did- recognize had me going "wait, didn't this come out way earlier/later?" like you'd think I'd have a harder time remembering the stuff that was on the radio while I was in fucking kindergarten to second grade, but no
