the most cursed bone block bench of all
- Gonna agree with bone the homestuck fandom, even if only for the earlier stuff when I still had some fucking clue what was going on. There was a very long time where I wished I had the kind of raw audacity AH had. He's been a good object lesson why I shouldn't aspire to it, though.
- Bench steven universe. I respect y'all but please for the love of everything, calm down a little. please.
- Block Undertale. I am so. so. so. so tired of undertale.

@distressedegg @Balina as much as I liked the game when it came out: same at this point

@distressedegg @Thaminga "Everyone can be redeemed, it's never too late for anyone."
'Except you. You cannot be forgiven no matter what.'
re: the most cursed bone block bench of all
@Balina @Thaminga also like... it’s a heavily character-centric indie game, I think it’s natural to expect people to try out different playstyles to experience different outcomes! Shaming people for experimenting because of some weird Toy Story-esque “ohhhh we’re ACTUALLY alive” conceit feels creepy and condescending.
re: the most cursed bone block bench of all
@distressedegg @Balina I mean, to play devil's advocate for like the briefest moment I can at least commend the idea of trying out something fairly new with narratives in gaming and making the world respond in a worryingly straight manner to the player's actions.
... that said, the way it was handled clashes SUPER hard with the whole lesson purportedly taught and in retrospect that sure as fuck didn't help with the attitude of the fanbase that coalesced around it given the amount of "keeps up the veneer of a good person but is absolutely *aching* to tear anyone they deem an acceptable target to fucking shreds" kind of people it ended up attracting.
re: the most cursed bone block bench of all
@Thaminga @Balina like: I’m glad an indie creator made a megahit, and it’s got some cute bits, but its really vitriolic fan community and its sappy, emotionally manipulative ending really turned me off from ever wanting to play it. Also every aspiring Oedipus out there needs to take a chill pill over Toriel already
