@Thaminga I'm also in favour of generally iterating very clearly to doctors that, hey, I'm in distress about aspects of my transition, this is serious, this isn't just me being shallow, it's adversely affecting my quality of life and if I don't see the effects from this I may need to seek surgical remediation such as breast augmentation which has some much higher risks (as anything that uses anesthesia does)

I think for doctors the main selling point is that while reports of efficacy vary there is very little evidence of any major safety risks for progesterone. So it's, for most people, a placebo at worst. You can also point to some research like this https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30608551/ or cite Dr Will Powers whose research shows its important for certain aspects of this direction of hormone therapy
