"if you answered yes and you're cis, were you put into a gifted program? were you also a 'doubly exceptional' gifted kid when it turned out you weren't neurotypical? ..........yeah that's what i thought"
......................ofc it probably also applies to a large chunk of the trans population as well
same "children have to grow up and become adultlike real fast" result lol

@Thaminga honestly the more i learn about "doubly exceptional" kids - how it's well known that if you test as gifted, you're much more likely to be in some way neuroatypical (have adhd, asperger's spectrum, just get fucked over with depression later, and so on)....
.....i'm starting to think that "gifted kid that is not doubly exceptional" is actually code for "this one has really good coping strategies that society hasn't cracked yet"
