@IceWolf @monsterblue Yes, but wolves still retain their long tails and mobile ears. They've got perfectly good semaphore, like most mammals.

On the other hand, if primates with mobile ears exist, I haven't heard of it. And I'm fairly sure that the earliest hominids were as tailless as today's chimpanzees, orangutans, and gorillas.

@Verdigris @IceWolf @monsterblue To be fair, wolves also have their own adaptations to suit a more social lifestyle; facial markings that draw attention to the eyes (analogous to humans having visible sclera) come to mind in particular.
