@Zeny@snouts.online A bit of both, probably! Totally digital coloring would've opened up a lot of new possibilities for obvious reasons, but I also recognize a lot of what we now call the Y2K aesthetic in the overall color palettes of these two frames here (similar dynamics - muted tones leaning towards a particular hue, combined with flashes of bright and often sharply contrasting colors) - I'm sure it and late '90s/early '00s anime influenced each other a bunch in that regard.
@unascribed oh yeah, it's just that at a given point things get so compressed that you're getting across the exact same amount of information as you would crunching things down to such a tiny resolution lmao
@unascribed from the original 10p to a stunning 40p resolution
@dzuk not much, woke up not that long ago! You?
@dzuk hey
re: orange hellsite, colonialist nonsense
@Kye@snouts.online "Primitive and tribal" is a pretty strange fucking description for the most rhythmically and lyrically complex form of popular music out there right now, I'd say.
(it's also a pretty racist one, but that's a common theme with the people ripping on hip hop in general, isn't it now)
@anthracite and so, the antivirus becomes the malware...
@colon_three ah, spicy,,,
@irisjaycomics definitely, CGI today is *miles* ahead of where it was 20 years ago, doubly so when we're talking about stuff available to people who aren't running big studios and shit
@AzureHusky to be fair, he's hot
@irisjaycomics I mean shit, people were -all over- the idea of virtual pop stars/idols in the late '90s and early '00s? I'm more surprised this has only really started becoming a real thing relatively recently, ahaha
block/mute meta
@kiilas unblocking folks who make you wonder why you ever blocked them in the first place is good practice I find, speaking from experience
spiders, media nonsense
@kiilas I mean there are a few species that could hurt you I guess, but they're also -incredibly- shy and most of them wouldn't even appear in people's houses in general
