currently enjoying the 90-second-long period of time that occurs only twice per year, where the sun shines at exactly the correct angle to go through the front window of our flat, through the living room, into the hallway, down the small set of stairs that goes to the back, and into the kitchen, where it lands exactly in the 20cm wide gap between counter units next to the sink (which is impossible to clean behind) and illuminates, with glorious intensity, a plastic hose and 1 piece of dry pasta
re: thoughts about structure more generally
@Ratttz Mhmm. The familiarity serves to root it in something people will recognize, render it not totally alien to them - what you do with the rest is all up to you. Perhaps you take a staid progression but substitute a chord with something spicier, perhaps you fuck with the rhythm, perhaps you play a weird scale over it all for flavor's sake, perhaps you just get creative with the melody and improvise a whole bunch - there are *so* many different directions you can take things to keep things interesting without alienating your audience outright.
re: thoughts about structure more generally
@Ratttz Oh yeah. As much as I like to dig into esoteric shit it's one of the reasons I do have a soft spot for the usual trappings of pop music - verse/chorus/verse structures, the old I-V-vi-IV progression and its variations, etc etc. Hackneyed as they may be, the magic is in their accessibility and the fact it's incredibly easy to improvise over them and make them your own.
@kd@yiff.life I've definitely picked up a lot of Canadian in my accent from voice chatting with Canadians on the daily (to the point of picking up on that specific pronunciation of "sorry", even) but like... I can't say I've ever said "aboot" in my entire life nor heard it said that way by anyone I know, ahaha
re: lewdness-meta surface-of-the-sun take [not actually lewd, should be safe for Minors™ to open]
@IceWolf How do I put this... on one hand, exposing kids to outright porn is a bad idea, but at the same time... there *really* ought to be a better way around this all than treating the whole matter as "*poof!* You just turned 18, that means you're an Adult™ now!" as if people don't both develop at different rates and even ignoring that, would greatly benefit from being eased into this whole thing rather than taking such an either/or approach to it all.
@Kyresti Of course!
... but then, to some people the entire appeal behind options 1 and 2 is *not* being a werewolf oneself, with all the potential danger that comes with that.
@starkatt unfortunately allowing multiple choices would make this way too easy
@IceWolf *nibble!*
@IceWolf There is no opposite, I'd say; the basic flavors, if you ask me at least, kind of all act like primary colors in that they just kind of freely combine together without really ever cancelling each other out.
@tom No, like this thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Pinto
They were known for being uh, spicy whenever they got involved in collisions.
@anthracite tiny friend!
