cyberpunk 2077 hot take
> tells you to do and instead just mess around all by yourself since there's no way you'll ever get to properly explore the world in front of you otherwise, only even more so than in Skyrim itself
couple that with the fact you don't really get to be -you- in the game unless you just so happen to fit in the (hilariously narrow vision) of what CDPR thinks you'd want to be and you get a game that kinda misses the core audience of the tabletop game in favor of Gamers™
cyberpunk 2077 hot take
honestly after looking at the gameplay trailer, my expectations have gone down from "maybe there's going to be a decent game underneath all the edge and shitty narratives" to "yeah nah this is just an overhyped mess with which the most I'll do is look up concept art to jack aesthetics from"
it's a shame, but the primary gameplay just looks genuinely boring and like it suffers from Skyrim Syndrome where you only really start having fun when you stop doing what the game >>>
Hey people, I've been noticing the number of posts with alt text going down. It might be because of all the new users who haven't learned about the feature yet, so for them and everyone:
yall should use alt text when uploading images! what are they??? hover over the images to find out! why are they good? the tldr of it is that visually impaired computer users exist and it helps them navigate the INFOBAHN better
worldbuilding thought
i mean sure there's microtonal stuff & all, & to expect everything made by people elsewhere in the universe would be in 12TET would be a joke, but no matter how many keys you add to the keyboard, there's only gonna be so many combinations of intervals that sound nice together
of course which ones prove the most popular and for what is a whole other thing, but given how much the 7½ billion of us have collectively messed with that ourselves, probably nothing new under the sun

thinking of what music by alien species would be like and honestly, I figure the main differences from what you find here on Earth would be more in the rhythmical and instrumentation (or if electronic, sound design) department than harmony per se
there's only so many combinations of chords you can smash together that'll sound right even if you consider differences in the theory behind it all and plenty of music here on Earth doesn't use chords, period
meta question
one thing I'm currently missing from Tusky is the ability to just leave it running while I'm asleep, then being able to scroll up through everything I missed without having to reopen the app, start from the most recent posts and be stopped by the API a few hours down
are there any apps for Android that support that?

Due to popular demand, and the ever-increasing net to explain Mastodon to newbies as every instance is being bombarded with new users...
I've gone ahead and create a video tutorial that should help folks get to grips with all of this platform's particulars:

and for those who don't feel like downloading songs at the drop of a hat, have a preview!
y'all like synthwave? y'all enjoy fucky downtempo breakbeats? guess what I put the two together, and this marks the first song I've completed in literally forever
enjoy, y'all https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilyffjkvgo0zkll/Thaminga%20Vesemxoq%20-%20Nested%20Reality.zip?dl=0

falling asleep in front of the computer was a mistake because I sure as shit can't make it happen now that I'm in bed, whoops
with that out of the way, time to make a shorter cut along with it for folks who don't feel like listening to 8 minutes of IDMey post-synthwave at a time, along with some bonus beats maybe and then I'll drop it here in a big ol' zip file probably since I can't be fucked making a bandcamp page right away
but first, sleep
