@kistaro Nice to meet you, flying lizard!
My fear of people extends to unknown environments and people. Tis fun. Now I know why I am so anxious when it comes to going out!
Cannabis mention
@kistaro Yeah... I use CBD-THC 1:1s for a similar reason nightly. Especially also before any party or social event not work related. It's kind of my "be remotely a functioning person for a few hours" button. ^^;
No insomnia from the 1:1s tho directly, but do get intensive dreams that can interrupt sleep.
As for escital... I may ask my doc on something like that ^^ Was on an SSRI before but it nuked my emotions entirely.
Cannabis mention
Escitalopram is the most fundamental SSRI, so if an SSRI didn't work in the past, then it's unlikely to help in the future. SNRIs are a better second line if SSRIs weren't appropriate for you, from what I've heard.
I enjoy THC, but no amount of it (even used with CBD) particularly helps me be a "functioning" person for a few hours. <..< Different people have different neurochemistry - as the difficulty getting antidepressants right, or any psych medication, tends to show...
re: Cannabis mention
@kistaro Well I use functioning in a loose sense. >>
More it works as a reset button after I come down for a good while. But yeah, stuff to explore with the brain doc!
@Veladynee
yeah, my sincerest sympathies. I'm fortunate that escitalopram has been immensely beneficial for anxiety; before that, I found that CBD was useful for acute anxiety, and could suppress it for hours - enough that I could use it as a tool to let me go out in loud, crowded environments and have a good time anyway. The doses I used caused me insomnia, though, if I used them with less than eight hours to go before bed; I've heard that CBD is a sedative in large doses but I used absurdly tiny doses.
