I get overwhelmed, give up opening my mail, and wind up months and months behind on medical bills. it's embarassing. I don't have any problem affording them, I'm just fucking up my credit because I can't deal with being a mature adult apparently. I guess that's why I'm being medicated for anxiety and ADHD, and at least I'm up to date on paying _those_ I think

If it helps I have similar bad habits with most of my bills. It’s not just you!

@kistaro @anthracite And this right here is why I automate as much of it as I can. I often end up with a spoon deficit from too many items to cover, both financially and otherwise (and affording them is not a problem for me either, executive function or lack thereof is).
I'd see if you can find ways to do that, to automatically handle them so you don't suffer from overload.

@Veladynee @anthracite
My insurance company goes back and forth so many times with two of the providers I have no real alternative to that I've learned _not_ to pay them until they threaten to send me to collections, because any bills before they're 90 days overdue are estimates at best.
I autopay my mortgage, power, Internet, utilities, and HOA, but I have to just pay medical bills.
