It's weird how a lot of english words for anything intense are very mixed-up over whether they're good or bad (maybe just in modern use?)
terrible/terrific, awesome/awful
@Felthry @VoxSomniator all of these words come from roots that mean fearful (in the sense of causing fear, not feeling it) and if anything the definitions have shifted away from something not clearly good or bad
@VoxSomniator I'm pretty sure they used to have different meanings. We know that awful used to mean "full of awe", which then transferred to the thing causing the awe (I think?) to get the meaning "awe-inspiring" and then. Something happened??????
