I have one of those apps that shows the sensor readout from all the doodads on the phone, the magnetometer and accelerometer and such. Within the anomaly, the arrow which usually points north points *up*.

I discovered some kind of stationary ghost at the campus I work at. For a while I thought my phone just had bad signal there, but it turns out it only has bad signal in a small two-foot-wide sphere, which happens to be above my favorite seat.
