Had a weird dream I was in 1940s Pittsburgh with some others and we were trying to get back to our time by collecting enough energy for a time jump. We managed to get an apartment to stay for awhile but was kinda thinking on how to get back since we are not supposed to be there.

We tried to capture lightning bolts using satellite dishes to do this, but whenever we tried a time police drone would materialize and start attacking with what felt like needles going into you and stunning you. So we had to kind of search for an underground time travel group.

Naturally if you start saying you are a time traveler then people will think you are weird but we still had some modern technology on us. Only matter was finding the group itself and if they would help us. Luckily for us, one was watching us as we were being attacked.

Obviously since the knowledge we were using was not expected from that given time and we managed to build stuff using it. Were told that it would be impossible to go back since we would radiate particles that could be seen in other times, very easily detected.

So we basically had to wait for the time travel effect to wear off before trying anything, however the drones would amplify the effect since in order to time travel to the past you need to collect a number of these particles in order to make the jump.
