Out of curiosity, what do you do when your emotions are out of sync with reality, especially when matters feel worse than you logically know they are?

Go on a walk, read a book, curl up for a while, or..?

(I have some methods, but I'm interested in hearing what others have figured out. Feel free to Content Warn/set privacy as appropriate.)

@digitalfox It depends on circumstances, but what we try to do is:
0) box breathing. Calm the heart.
1) If Yari is fronting, turn the event over to our voice of reason Vyzie, if available. If Vyzie is fronting, think things through after a drink of water or cup of chamomile tea.
2) if available, go for a walk or exercise until we feel better. Sometimes we need to tire ourself out to feel better.
3) talk to someone or writing things out help us to not be tormented by things
4) read book, no phone
