hot take but i think that someone joining the military and potentially dying just to be able to afford going through a four year program to get a certificate that says that they're allowed to make enough money to reasonably live in a standard apartment, and then that certificate amounting to basically nothing in the end due to the fact that the person was unable to find a job in their chosen career field, is a sign that at some point society has failed its people

@Liizerd Even more failure when their attempt to take advantage of the college education results in the government immediately sending them back for another tour of duty so that they don't have to pay for the college education that they didn't really intend to pay for anyways.
