coffee, ph/mh -

Been having a lot of trouble sleeping the past few weeks. I thought it was a side-effect of my prozac prescription, but just this morning after sleeping relatively well, I realized what the real culprit was.

Near the start of summer I began cutting back on coffee to help me sleep better. I normally drank 3-4 large cups per morning, then started cutting back and slept better. But I realized that lately, I've been drinking more and more coffee over time, so I've been getting back into old bad habits.

So, its time to cut back again

re: coffee, ph/mh +

Cutting back on coffee yesterday seemed to have helped. I still woke up at around 3am, but was able to fall back asleep and then woke up later at around 6:30. I'll need to remember to limit myself from now on.

And on another note, last night I changed the mask I use with my CPAP machine, going from the F&P Vitera to the Phillips Dreamwear. I had originally used the Dreamwear mask when I first started therapy with a CPAP machine, but I found it had more and more problems every night. But on the first night or two, it worked way better than the Vitera mask.

Just recently, I realized that it was getting progressively worse because I was not cleaning it every night. So, I've decided to give it another shot. Using it last night, it wasn't perfect at first (partly because I had to keep adjusting the straps), but I adapted to it quickly.

Hopefully going forward this will mean better sleep and more energy during the day!
