@oceanotter I personally dont think it is cowardice. You can keep up with world events other ways. Birdsite made everything hyper immediate including long standing problems. That can cause stress and make it harder to deal with personal and social problems. Without even touching the well documented "engagement" algorithm that tended to push forward some questionable takes/arguments.
Tldr: you cant do anything about systemic problems if youre eaten by stress

Hey #furries & other #fediverse folk, can I get some #advice ?
I've been "chronically online" for most of my life but I never pursued #tech as a career. Since I don't use my college degree in my current job, what skills are companies looking for so I can learn them & get a higher-paying job than what I have now?
I completed the 1st part of a 5-course IT support program on Coursera, but I'm stuck in the mud on the 2nd part, "Bits & Bytes of Computer Networking."

hello. work are pulling a fast one with the holiday pay that they owe me now that i'm leaving and this is leaving me short on money to pay the bills this month. January is always a hard month for us as a lot of yearly bills come out.
